Benson’s story began in 1946, when J.W. Benson established a masonry contracting business in Jackson, Mississippi. His commitment to honest service and quality workmanship became the foundation for three generations of building experience.
Johnny and Rick Benson established Benson Builders and Properties in 1987. Benson Construction and Masonry followed in Ridgeland in 1998, bringing commercial construction and masonry together under the family name.
Healthcare construction is an important part of the Benson story. Rick Benson’s background in anesthesia and medical facilities helped shape an understanding of how clinics and surgical centers function every day—from patient care to the work of the people behind it.
That perspective informed projects such as GI Associates and Endoscopy Center in Flowood, an approximately 88,000-square-foot facility that opened in June 2016. Chris and Brett Benson brought the next generation into commercial and masonry project management, continuing a family approach grounded in honesty, integrity, and craftsmanship.
